NOTRE DAME ROCKETRY TEAM
Vehicle Team Member, Technical Writer

Tested and analyzed data from a subsonic wind tunnel to calculate induced drag of air-braking system with MATLAB

Performed trade studies on nose cone and propulsion systems using Microsoft Excel.

Simulated Sub-Scale Flight using OpenRocket and constructed rocket fins.

Wrote design reports on flight reliability and propulsion and presented results to NASA.

NOTRE DAME DESIGN, BUILD, FLY
Co-Mechanism Lead, Former Safety Officer

Optimized payload to minimize drag, maximize stability, and eliminate roll using MATLAB, Python, OpenRocket, Airfoil-Tools, and Fusion 360.

Designed payload release mechanism and improved the design of the deployment and recovery mechanism by reducing the number of components and adding a gear ratio to improve recovery speed.

Analyzed data using MATLAB and RacePack Datalink to optimize CVT.

Manufactured and welded the 2019-2021 vehicle with Lathe, Drill Press, Band Saw, and Miller Welding Machine

Designing the 2021-2022 drivetrain to allow for four-wheel drive capability using SolidWorks and MATLAB

Managed the club’s financials and procured necessary equipment for vehicle construction.
